20 CHARCOAL CONES
-
In perfumery, the term Chypre - or Cyprus in French - is a common category in fragrances that dates back as early as the late 1500s. These well-maintained formulas were found in everything from perfumed waters, hair powders, and the forgotten art of Chypre Birds.
Chypre Birds are a burning material commonly used during the Middle Ages. Through a combination of dried flowers, herbs, spices, and resin gums, these incense were pressed in metal molds to the shape of a small bird, then placed atop a burning fire to release its’ aroma through the home.
Cyprus is our reimagining of a classic Chypre Bird recipe.

Place the cone on a heat-proof surface and light the tip with a flame until the flame holds on its own. Wait 10-15 seconds and lightly blow out until a hot ember forms.
If your cone stops burning, just re-light the tip until an ember forms again.
It’s important that the ember covers the entirety of the tip for it to burn until the end.
